Leave No Waste

Miami Beach is the dirtiest beach I have ever lived in. The quality of people here has reached an all time low caliber of respect, common sense and awareness. Half of yesterdays Earth Day beach clean up crew only showed up for the free shirts and food. Water bottles, beer cans, beer bottles, styrofoam plates, plastic toys, markers, glow sticks, condoms, and straws are just a few of the items I picked up.
I don’t think anyone here is aware of The Great Pacific Garbage Patch that is circulating off the West Coast. This is the largest garbage dump in the world. 80% of it is plastic which doesn’t decompose and there is over 3.5 million tons of trash. Click here to watch a youtube video on it.
The remaining one year I have left in this awful state I will spend a couple of mornings a week cleaning up this beach.
